Information and Communications Technologies have transformed many aspects of socio-economic offering challenges and opportunities hence creating a demand for knowledge based society. ICT Stakeholders at all levels, Government and Private Sector need to provide every citizen in Tanzania the awareness, knowledge, skills and competences as well as the lifelong learning opportunities required for working in an increasingly information technology reach environment.
The 02nd Annual Conference for ICT Professionals 2018 (AIPC 2018) is among the important platforms used for discussion, networking and raising awareness on the global ICT affairs, business opportunities, knowledge and skills needed to cope with the dynamic digital economy. The Conference also serves as the platform for participants to discuss on enabling environment aspects for effective use of ICT as an enabling tool towards socio-economic development in Tanzania. The 01st Annual Conference for ICT Professionals was held in October 2017 bringing together more than 400 ICT stakeholders from both Government and Private Sector, Small Medium Enterprises, ICT Entrepreneurs and the business industry.
The AIPC 2018 conference theme is “Towards Digital Societies: Challenges and Opportunities” will also involve discussions on a wide range of topics emphasizing on the role of ICT in social-economic development and the role of ICT as an important tool to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Tanzania. The conference will be featured with exhibitions from various ICT stakeholders showcasing their products, services and innovations.
The conference seeks to strengthen the synergy between the Tanzanian ICT Professionals, Government, Young entrepreneurs and the ICT Business community towards the advancement of ICT competency and business development in Tanzania.
This session on empowering people through information and communication technologies (ICTs) is a high level panel discussion focusing on three aspects of digital inclusions which are access, adoption and applications. Discussions will focus on successes and challenges on mobile money/ banking infrastructure, rural community connectivity, e-governance, smart cities/ villages, ICT for healthcare, etc. Issues of opportunities, access, knowledge, and skill at the level of policy focusing on a practical, policy-driven approaches that addresses the needs of the Tanzanian ICT industry and communities as a whole will be discussed.
ICT is the most innovative technology, offering abundant entrepreneurship opportunities and contribute significantly to job creation. This is a technical symposium for knowledge and experience sharing focusing on aspects of cyber security, digital forensic and strengthening of cyber security ecosystem in Tanzania.
